The Utah Refugee Education and Training Center is partnership between Salt Lake Community College, Utah State University and the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
The Refugee Center serves two purposes:
- To foster opportunities for refugees to access family-sustaining employment
- To support refugee communities’ efforts to find appropriate solutions towards integration
Technology
Being a crucial part of successful integration and sustainable wage employment, we offer multiple courses catering to a variety of levels.
Basic Computer Literacy
Three-part course to help refugees gain basic computer literacy
IT Careers
Nine-month training to prepare students to test for the CompTIA A+ Certification, providing students with the skill set needed to be successful in IT support careers.
Computer Programming
Introductory courses in HTML, CSS and Javascript web development, and year-long advanced training in preparation for the OCA Java Certification.
